Happened to know that Shortcovers(http://www.shortcovers.com/) which is owned by Canada’s biggest booksellers, Indigo Books&Music(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_Books_and_Music), is about to introduce electronic book application which can be used in iphone. Other than more than 50,000 books, Shortcovers will provide news, journals, instant messages and blog service.
Almost the same as Amazon’s Kindle, Shortcovers is going to provide the first chapter of any book to the reader. Then the reader will normally have two options: Buy one chapter at a time which might cost 99 cents, or buy the whole book which might cost 10-20 dollars. Otherwise, readers might get paper copy of certain books.
I can’t wait to see the fight between Kindle and Shortcovers. What do you think?
